Seamless Interface To Fleet Director Offers GPS Tracking, Automatic Load Updates and Enhanced Driver/Dispatcher Coordination

BLOOMFIELD, Connecticut and GARDEN GROVE, California, May 24, 2011 – Prophesy Transportation Solutions, Inc. and Teletrac, Inc., a leading provider of advanced fleet management solutions, today announced the availability of a new seamless interface whereby users of the popular Prophesy Dispatch Series Software solution can directly integrate with Teletrac’s award-winning Fleet Director GPS and Vehicle tracking software.  Fleet Director helps fleet managers locate and track the position and operation of fleet vehicles providing greater visibility into fleet operations. As a result, companies can gain greater operational efficiencies, reduce costs, improve driver productivity, and enhance customer service.

Integration with Fleet Director gives Prophesy Dispatch users access to Teletrac features such as turn-by-turn navigation, real-time vehicle tracking, live traffic data and highly accurate estimated time of arrival (ETA) to simplify workforce management.  Combined with Fleet Director’s robust 2-way messaging capabilities, communications between dispatchers and drivers become more efficient and effective.

For example, “new loads” and all associated data created in Prophesy Dispatch are automatically sent to the drivers’ in-cab device. Drivers can instantly notify dispatchers regarding key load information and confirmations, arrivals, departures, BOL, actual weight, actual quantity, delivery notes, and other information  processed by Prophesy Dispatch ─ all at the touch of a few  buttons via the Fleet Director in-cab unit. Plus, GPS vehicle tracking lets dispatchers know the precise location of each vehicle, ensuring complete visibility of vehicle movements and activities.

“We are proud to offer a Fleet Director interface to our users,” said Prophesy Vice President/General Manager Bill Ashburn. “Like Prophesy, Teletrac has provided exceptional products to the transportation industry for more than 20 years. The size of Teletrac’s installed base, exceptional quality of product, and long-term focus on customer service, makes Fleet Director a solution we can quite comfortably recommend to our users. Quite simply our companies share the same ‘roots’ of dedication to the industry.”

”We decided to team with Prophesy for a number of reasons, not the least of which is their industry leadership and expertise,” said Teletrac executive vice president, Drew Hamilton. “The integration of Fleet Director with Prophesy Dispatch addresses an acute need for many of our trucking customers – a dispatch system that offers complete operational visibility.”

The new integration provides users with:

  • Full integration between Teletrac Fleet Director and Prophesy Dispatch Software
  • Real-time GPS tracking
  • Enhanced load position mapping
  • 2-way automated data communication (loads) between driver and dispatcher
  • Automatic check calls
  • Automatic ETA updates
  • Increased operational efficiency
  • Reduced communication costs
