Case study discusses how AccellosOne Enterprise 3PL has helped the Iowa-based third party logistics company on-board new facilities, add new customers, implement EDI and manage customer inventory
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – July 19, 2012 – Accellos, a leading provider of supply chain execution software solutions, announced that it has issued a case study of its customer Cloverleaf Cold Storage, Inc. The case study discusses how AccellosOne Enterprise 3PL has helped the Iowa-based third party logistics company on-board new facilities, add new customers, implement EDI and manage customer inventory. Following is a synopsis of the case study.
Ranked 10th among North American public refrigerated warehouse firms and in the top-15 worldwide, Cloverleaf Cold Storage, Inc. operates more than 63 million cubic feet of warehouse space, heavily weighted towards meat and poultry. Besides raw protein products, it also handles a variety of other edibles, among them ice cream, doughnuts, French fries and egg products.
Operating in seven states, the company has more than 500 unique clients, with sites serving anywhere from 25-125 customers, some of them at multiple facilities. Cloverleaf’s growth and broad geographic reach necessitated a 3PL management solution with exceptional power, flexibility, accuracy and controls and which could be deployed quickly and easily.
The company manages its sprawling warehouse complex with Accellos One Enterprise 3PL management software on a server at its Sioux City headquarters, linked to the warehouses via a wide area network. The logistics software solution also includes Accellos’ d’Amigo alerts utility and the eVista online customer visibility tool as well as EDI/XML translation middleware.
The AccellosOne Enterprise 3PL platform is an integrated technology platform to address all the critical components of a multi-client 3PL operation. The system was designed by seasoned 3PL professionals with experience working in multi-client 3PL operations. The AccellosOne Enterprise 3PL platform contains rich functionality developed over 20 years of working with multi-client 3PL operations, and has gone through continuous technology updates to ensure it is easy to support and has a low total cost of ownership. Key capabilities of the software include: 3PL Warehouse Management (WMS), Customer Visibility, Billing Management, Supply Chain Intelligence, Document Management, Shipping, Fleet Management and Trading Partner Integration (EDI).
The Accellos system has helped Cloverleaf reduce cycle counts and inventory control staff and to sustain a consistent high level of efficiency. It enables precise inventory record maintenance, with clients able to self-service their inventory questions on the web via eVista. Regulatory changes and modifications are easily accommodated; new and acquired facilities are on-boarded quickly.
“Accellos’ concentration on the 3PL cold storage market has given them an extraordinary, in-depth awareness of the field and its challenges, and that is one of the primary reasons we selected them as our 3PL management solution,” said Curtis Mastbergen, Vice President of Administration and Finance at Cloverleaf. “We wanted an expert in our field, not a vendor to whom cold storage was a sideline.”
“Accellos is delighted with the results Cloverleaf has achieved as a result of using our software,” said Joe Couto, Senior Vice President of Accellos. “This case study demonstrates that software specifically designed for the needs of public warehouse 3PL operators like Cloverleaf will yield significant results in client satisfaction and streamlined operations.”
