COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – August 10, 2009 – Accellos, a leading provider of supply chain execution software solutions, today announced Accellos One Workspace, its new composite application framework that will underlie its future product development.
“We wanted to provide a platform to build rich internet applications upon. By leveraging Microsoft’s latest innovations in Silverlight 3.0 and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), we’ve been able to do just that. Workspace allows us to unify the user experience while maintaining the rich server-side functionality of our broad supply chain suite of applications,” said Ross Elliott, Accellos’ CTO.
According to Gartner, “Composite applications have gained prominence because of the emergence of SOA, Web 2.0 and software as a service (SaaS), and because of their anticipated benefits of rapid time to deployment and reduced application development costs.”
“The entire concept of web ‘mashups’ was created to bring disparate pieces of information together into a common presentation for the user. As technology has progressed, the ability to accomplish this in a performant, intuitive manner has accelerated,” said Elliott. “We’re simply applying the concept to business applications with what we believe to be stunning results.”
Version 1 of Accellos One Workspace is currently in limited beta release and is planned for a Q4 2009 general release.
